It’s been almost two months since I made a post to my blog. Without a doubt, the longest period of time it has been dormant. I could blame it on the lack of things to write about, but that wouldn’t be the truth. There’s been lots of happenings, but the desire to write about them has been the problem.
We attended a molded fiberglass rally in Alabama the middle of March. Met many old friends and made a few new ones. No pictures of the rally, as there are plenty in posts from the month of March of previous years.
I did a little construction project at home. Built another building near my shop to hold the boat, lawn mower, and other assorted things. Great to have my SHOP back.
Wanda and I, along with my brother and his wife, made our annual fishing trip to Guntersville, Alabama the first week of April. Someone apparently failed to mention our schedule to the fish, or the weatherman. The high point of the week was a visit to the Unclaimed Baggage Store in Scottsboro, Alabama. Housed in a building the size of a Walmart, it was amazing to see the things people leave behind. Clothing, shoes, high end tablets, phones, electronics and cameras, golf clubs, skis, bicycles; etc. All cleaned, sorted, and priced very reasonable in my opinion.
On our third day in Guntersville(Tuesday), we received another one of those phone calls. Wanda’s mom was on her way back to the hospital. We loaded the boat, packed our bags, and headed home. By seven Wednesday morning, Wanda was at her mom’s side. Things weren’t looking good. Her mom passed away around 10AM on Friday, the 7th. of April, with all her family at her bedside.
The past two weeks have included helping Wanda and her brother with family details, spending Easter with the kids in Natchez, and helping my brother build a garage for his daughter.
The egg is sitting underneath its shed, all ready for a road trip. Hopefully, sometime in the near future, we will be on the road again. It may be the inspiration I need to start blogging again. Hope so..…jc
