We hit the road last Wednesday morning. We had an appointment with six other couples at Fountainbleu State park, nead Mandeville, Louisiana. It was drizzling rain as we left home, and continued for the next four days. Never a hard rain, just drizzle or a heavy mist. It didn’t stop us from eating way too much, and drinking the same. After oysters, and seafood of numerous other kinds, burgers, breakfasts, and pot lucks, it was time to say goodbye. We departed early Sunday in the same drizzle, but by the time we reached Lake Charles it had stopped. sunny skies ahead.
We spent sunday night in a cousins yard near Conroe, TX. Had a great visit, and left there this morning(Monday) headed for Canyon Lake, TX. Potters Creek CoE was our destination, but a phone call informed us it closes tomorrow for a Wounded Warriors deer hunt.
Not to be undone, we made our way around the lake to Cranes Mill CoE. Much smaller than Potters Creek, but still a very nice CG near San Antonio.
Enjoying the sunshine.
The most water we’ve even seen in the lake.
These are safe on our side of the lake.
Potters Creek, across the lake. Still only one loop reopened after the devastating flood of earlier this year.
We’ll be here for a few days, depending on the weather. Stay tuned…
I bet you were happy to see that sunshine!

ReplyDeleteIt's about time.
Canyon Lake looks like a great stop.
ReplyDeleteHope those sunny skies stay with you for awhile. After 4 days of gray, you deserve them!
I was wondering if anyone was venturing out in the monsoon. Now I know!
ReplyDeleteMust feel good to be on the road again. Like the look of that sunshine. Gray here and waiting for more snow.
