A Busy Week

Once again we have a little something to blog about.  A busy seven days.  They started with a trip to Breaux Bridge, Louisiana for the Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival.  Breaux Bridge is in the heart of Cajun country, and bills itself as the crawfish Capitol of the World.

The festival is attended by thousands of people from around the world. We met one couple from Paris, France that said they were having the time of their lives.  Lots of music and dancing.

There were actually three stages playing Cajun, Zydeco, and good ol’ American music.  This couple lives in Hawaii, but have traveled to the festival every year for decades.

Of course you can’t have a crawfish festival without crawfish.

We had lots of fun at the festival, but this was the best part.  Spending time with friends that we hadn’t seen for a while.

We arrived back home on Sunday afternoon, and Monday found me on the Trinity River near Liberty, Texas.  Our annual fishing trip.

The fish were very excited to see us. They were actually doubling up on the hook.

And the Blue Crabs loved our bait so much, they didn’t want to let go.

A fish on every hook.

But this is the best part of the trip.  Fresh fish, fried up on the river bank.  As someone once said. “It don’t get no better than this.”

Home again for a few days.  Another adventure coming soon…..jc
