"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime"-MARK TWAIN

To Red Canyon

Yesterday, Monday, was a travel day again.  We were all ready to move to the Red Canyon CG near Bryce Canyon NP.  The convoy moved out around 8:30 AM.

We traveled through many variations of landscapes and weather  Went from rain to sunny skies and warmer temps.  One couple saw a black bear by the side of the road, but no one else was as lucky.  We arrived at our campground around 11:00 AM and got set up.  It is a  beautiful location on a creek amongst  all this red rock.

After lunch we went for a short hike and took a few shots of the surroundings.  We haven't even made it into the National Park, yet.  Too much to see and do near the campground.

The weather forecast is for 29 degrees here tonight, but clearing and warming up greatly tomorrow.  Went for an ATV ride with a friend earlier today and we ran into a blizzard up on the mountain which ran us back to the campers.  Will try and post some pics of a hike I took this morning on the next report.........jc
