"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime"-MARK TWAIN

Northern Coast

Left Calistoga this morning around 10AM.  As we were leaving town we saw this sign.  Apparently Yellowstone isn't the only place with an Old Faithful geyser.
We have traveled California Hwy 128 all the way from Yosemite to the California coast.  We arrived in Mendiceno, CA around noon and found a really great RV park.  It is about 1/4 mile from the Pacific and we can hear the fog horns blowing from our campsite.  We got set up and headed for lunch.  Had Dungeness
Crab cakes while watching the ocean roll into the harbor.

Checking out the crab traps on the pier.
Our campsite backs right up to the woods and it is surrounded with huckleberry bush's loaded with green berries, and dewberry vines covered with blooms.  It seems we are about a month too early.

Later this afternoon we took a short drive to a public access area on the Pacific.  Took a number of pictures.  It seemed pretty rough. Don't know if tide going in or out.

Lots of stuff left behind by the tides.  Even one live one. Apparent he/she had been there a while as there was a sign posted to be aware.

Got a couple of pic's of the sun sinking in the sea, but there were no clouds to make any scenic shots.  Maybe tomorrow.
