"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime"-MARK TWAIN

Mojave, California

Not much exciting has happened since the last post.  From Deming, NM we made our way to Benson, AZ. We decided to stay at Kartchner Caverns state Park.  We stayed there our first trip to Arizona back in 2013. I won’t bore you with details of this years visit, but this link will take you to 2013, and our visit then. http://eggrollings.blogspot.com/2013/02/kartchner-cavernsbig-room.html

We did manage to visit two dear friends that relocated to Sierra Vista from Missouri.  They are adjusting well to their new home.  I also went for a hike in search of a Mammoth kill site, but all I found was a circular fence around a plot of about an acre with this sign on the gate.  I didn’t know there were bullforgs in Arizona.

After Benson, it was a few day in Tucson at Gilbert Ray campground.  We love this campground as it’s away from the city, surrounded by desert, and has amazing sunsets.

We took a drive down to Nogales and returned by way of Patagonia and Sonoita.  We visited Patagonia state park, and marked it as a destinartion for a future trip.

We made it to Quartzsite last Thursday, meeting friends near Dome Rock.  It has been a week of visirting, shopping, earing, and just plain fun.  We had rain one day, but it stopped before sundown.

Would you believe that the group “The New Christy Minstrels” are still around.  Still led by Randy Sparks, the original leader of the group.  They performed In Quartszite over the weekend, so we just had to go.  Brought back some memories.

This post was copy and pasted from livewriter to blogger.  There appears to be another problem between the two.  That's the reason for the weird format.

We pulled out of Dome Rock early this morning.  Spending the night in Mojave, CA before making our way to Lone Pine, and the Alabama Hills tomorrow….jc
