"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime"-MARK TWAIN

Moving Day!

Saturday was moving day.  We departed Capitol Reef around 9 AM.  Climbed up and over a 9000+ ft. pass to Escalante, UT.  The trip was uneventful until we arrived at our campground.  We had reservations but someone was on our site.

We had to wait until 3 PM as that was official checkout time.  We took advantage of our bad luck to go back into town and do laundry and grocery shopping while we waited for the people to clear off the site.  At 3, the park ranger went up, loaded their stuff into the back of his truck, hooked to their camper,. and pulled it down the hill.  He said, it's all yours.
Later the folks came in and were kind of upset.  They said they weren't aware they were on a reservable site.  In the end, the park ranger worked it out for them to stay in the parking lot for the night, and everyone was happy, more of less, mostly us.
