We departed the Kansas gathering around 9 AM on this past Sunday morning. Traveled about six hours and found a nice COE campground on Mark Twain lake, near Hannibal, MO.
Monday evening found us someplace in Northeast Indiana. We did see the moon.
Tuesday evening finds us here.
Niagara Falls, New York. Have heard about it since childhood. Now I can say “been there, done that.” Was probably a nice place to visit at one time. Now, it strikes me as just another tourist trap.
I do find myself feeling as if I’ve arrived in the Northeast. Just as an arrival near the mountains of the West, we will now slow down our travels, and attempt to absorb the beauty we have only read about……jc
You moved pretty fast there pardner. Enjoy, hope you get to see some color in them thar trees.
ReplyDeleteHad you slowed down earlier, I might have caught up with you in MO in a few days.
ReplyDeleteFunny you say that about Niagra Falls. I attended a Ranger talk in Yellowstone and the Ranger was discussing the importance of the NP system. He asked us to imagine if Yellowstone had not been protected and offered Niagra Falls as an example of how NOT to do things.
Never have been to Niagara Falls and doubt I will ever get the cowboy there.

ReplyDeleteLoved the moon photo....I need to learn night photos! We saw it the same night as it came up over a lake..big and orange!
ReplyDeleteNever been to Niagara....may not need to after the comments.
We know a nice campground on the ocean just 7 miles from the LL Bean flagship store in Freeport Maine. Let me know if you need a name. We have also camped at Cobscook Bay State Park....but it is almost in Canada. Looking forward to hearing about your trip!
