Round 2

DSC_0216.1 (Medium)

Two thirty in the afternoon, in the deep South. One hundred miles North of New Orleans.  It isn’t supposed to be this way.  This clock sits right over our back door. Though the indoor temperature isn’t correct due to my having the door open for a for a few minutes, the outdoor temp is correct.  We received a second round of the white stuff again, today.  Twice in one week.

To say we aren’t used to this is an understatement.  Most of what we got today was sleet, so all the roads are a sheet of ice.  Thankfully, we have no where to go, as I’m sure it’s bumper cars in town.

Miss Casita wish’s she was back down in South Texas.

Put out some seed for the birds, and spent most of the day trying to get some good shots through the window.  Seems what my eye sees as proper focus doesn’t agree with my camera on zoomed shots.  Working on that diopter setting. Will have to figure out what’s best. trying to shoot with my glass’s on, or off.

Hopefully, by tomorrow it will start melting.  Supposed to be near seventy By Sunday.  Welcome to the Deep South, and global warming…….jc

  1. We all try to escape the snow but it seems to follow us wherever we go. Love you bird pics - I think they're in focus!

  2. You'd really have to go south in Texas to get warm temps! I'm ice covered here near Houston, and temps will be in the low 20's tonight. This is not what I signed up for! ;)

    1. We'll get it figured out. Might take a pint or two, though. Enjoy your chili, and stay warm.

  4. Brrrrrr. I will not complain about our 26 degree mornings anymore. Man that relentless cold there would be hard to take. Pics look good...

  5. Your pics are really good. I agree, the deep south is not ready for this. It is going down to 14 here tonight (65miles south of Atlanta) and we got a little over a couple of inches or so of sleet and snow.
    Come on warm weather.

    1. Bet you guys are glad you don't live in Atlanta, yesterday or today. Yep, we're looking forward to the opportunity of complaining about the heat and humidity, again.

  6. Great pictures, Jerry. Just a little salt - I'm showing 66 degrees outside at 9:30 p.m. in Bullhead City. I expect it will be warmer when I get home tomorrow.

    1. Salt!! What's that? Our highway departments down here aren't prepared for weather like this. Mother nature will take care of it. Seventy degrees forecast for Saturday.

  7. The bright spot in the day was those beautiful little birds. Loved them and glad you put seeds out for the little critters.

Yes, Miss Casita looks forlorn. I wish she could be in South Texas, too.

We are getting an awful case of cabin fever, too. Hope the weather gets this out of its system and we get an early spring.

But your curving, snowy lane does make a beautiful photo. :)
