"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime"-MARK TWAIN

Day 2. 1026 Miles from Home.

Tonight finds us is a small city park just South of Lakin, Kansas.

We were awakened by thunderstorms around 3 AM.  Sally started her pacing, and that pretty much wrapped up the good sleep for the night.  We were on the road in rain by 7AM, and traveled in rain till well past Oklahoma City.  We started a northwestern route from I-40 to the southwestern corner of Kansas.  Wanda found this little park on RVpark Reviews, and it’s a gem.  Eight sites with water and electric for $10.00.  There’s one other rig here with us.

I think it was a gravel pit in another life, but it’s a really nice place.

Friend John had asked what our hurry was.  We’ve traveled this part of the Country enough that we just want to get through it.  After tomorrow, things will slow down considerably.

We saw lots of this today.

Radar shows more storms in store for tonight.  Hope they’re mild, and short lived….jc

  2. We were in our casita last week in Sedalia Missouri, when the weather sirens started going off. I freaked out. In the end it was just rain.

Safe travels. We leave Thursday for Tennessee, casita in tow!

  4. We are planning on a journey with our Tubby to Alaska next year this time. I am looking forward to reading about your adventures. For some reason I am not able to follow - blogger says there were too many redirects🧐. I’ll figure it out. Safe travels!
