"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime"-MARK TWAIN

What a Week!

The last week has been one we'll never forget.  Starting with the tornado's throughout Mississippi and Alabama, combined with the flooding of the lower Mississippi River valley, we are wrapped up with bad news.  So many folks losing loved ones along with everything else they own.  It is heartbreaking.  Thankfully, we are blessed that we weren't touched  by the storms.  We do have some family whose lives are being disrupted by the high water.
There were a couple of positive things, though.  The end of Bin Laden was good news and we had a visit for a few days from an old Navy buddy of 40 years ago, and his wife.  We fed them boiled crawfish, fried catfish, and oysters.  Great visit with a lot of reminiscing. Also took them on a day trip to New Orleans.  Toured the French Quarter and enjoyed some more great food

.   Will begin getting the Casita ready for travel tomorrow.  We are heading West next Saturday, the 14th.  Planning about 4 days travel to reach Capitol Reef NP in Southeast Utah.  Can't wait to see those red rocks once again.
